The Practice Ride (PR) is NOT open to the general public.

The field limit is 300 riders.

Start your ride any time between the hours of 5-6 a.m. After 6:00 a.m. you will not be able to start your ride.

How do I register for the practice ride?
To register for the PR: A special link will be emailed to each registered racer at the end of February. This link will allow you to register for the PR on line. Signing up for the race DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY sign a rider up for the Practice Ride.

Is there a cost to the do the practice ride?
You must be registered for the Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb to partake in the practice ride. There is no additional cost for the practice ride; however there is a cost for your support vehicle to ascend the Auto Road (see below). Registered Hillclimb racers will need to give their race confirmation number which is found on the Bikereg registration confirmation which you received after you registered.

I’m already signed up for the practice ride, where do I need to be to start?
Support cars will be allowed to start up the mountain along with the riders. Cars and Hillclimbers need to use caution. Enter the Auto Road and take your first left into the gravel lot. Auto Road staff will be there to check you in and make sure you have a car ride down.

No riders will be permitted to start after 6:00 a.m. , no exceptions.

How do I get back down?
All riders must prove they have a driver that can bring them back down. Under no circumstances will a rider be permitted to ride if they don’t have a car ride down; no exceptions.

Is there a charge for cars?
Mt Washington Auto Road rates are posted on their web site. The Auto Road Toll House will be following weight and car restrictions. Please email the Auto Road if you have any questions or again visit the Auto Road web site. The Toll House does accept all major credit cards.

Will there be any amenities at the practice ride?
No. The practice ride is unsupported, there will not be: food, water, mechanical support, timing, blankets, awards, EMTs, etc. So if there is something you think you might need, be sure to bring it with you!
